Wallet apps and hardware wallets
Choose a wallet that supports the exact payment route, fits the way you want to use it, and gives you control of the recovery information.
Start with the payment route
A wallet app lets you receive, hold, and send cryptocurrency. Some apps keep the signing keys on your phone or computer. Hardware wallets use a separate card or device to protect and approve access. In both cases, the wallet must support the currency and the network requested by the recipient.
For example, a wallet that supports USDT on Ethereum does not automatically support USDT on Tron. Check the complete combination before buying or receiving funds.
The wallets listed here are self-custody wallets. You control their recovery information and approve transfers yourself. Hardware wallets require a purchase and additional setup, while software-only wallets can usually be installed immediately.
What to compare
Choose based on the task in front of you:
- the exact currency and network you need;
- whether the wallet works on your phone or computer;
- whether you want to buy and carry a separate hardware device;
- whether you want one focused wallet or several currencies in one app;
- how the wallet creates and restores its backup;
- how clearly it shows the network and transaction fee;
- which optional purchase, swap, or connection services it includes.
An integrated purchase or swap button is not the same as wallet support. Those services may be supplied by another company with separate fees, identity checks, terms, and data collection.
Install from a source you verify
Open the wallet maker's website yourself and follow its official app-store or download links. Do not install a wallet from an advertisement, direct message, email attachment, or link sent by someone asking you to make a payment.
No wallet support agent needs your recovery phrase, private key, screen-sharing access, or a payment to “activate” the wallet.
After choosing an app, follow the guide to set up and secure a personal wallet.
