The recipient should provide the currency, network, destination address, amount, and any required destination tag or memo. They should also say when the payment will be considered complete, such as after a certain number of confirmations.
If the request only says “send USDT,” ask whether it means Ethereum (ERC-20) or Tron (TRC-20). If an XRP deposit page shows a destination tag, treat the address and tag as one complete destination.
Confirm the request through a channel you trust. Be especially careful if the destination changed after an earlier conversation.
In your personal wallet, choose the exact currency and network from the request. Check that its available balance covers the payment plus the network fee.
Select Send. The wallet may call this Transfer or Withdraw, but the destination details are the same.
Scan the recipient's QR code or copy and paste the address. Avoid typing it. Compare the pasted result across the full address, not only the first or last characters.
Enter the destination tag or memo in its separate field when the recipient supplied one. Never guess an identifier or add one to the address by hand.
Check whether the invoice states a fixed cryptocurrency amount or the cryptocurrency equivalent of a local-currency price. Enter the amount exactly as requested.
If the wallet has a Send all button, do not use it for a fixed invoice unless the recipient specifically expects the entire available balance. The network fee can affect the final amount.
Use the seven-detail checklist above on the wallet's final confirmation screen. Read back the currency, network, full address, identifier, amount, fee, and recipient confirmation.
Cryptocurrency transfers are normally irreversible. Do not approve if the wallet warns about the network, changes the destination, or shows a detail you do not understand.
After approval, the wallet should show the transfer as submitted or pending. Save its transaction reference, sometimes called a transaction ID or hash. This is a public reference used to look up the transfer status. It is not a recovery phrase or private key.
Do not post account screenshots containing unrelated balances or personal information when the reference alone is enough.
Tell the recipient the transfer has been submitted and provide the transaction reference if needed. Wait for the network and the recipient's payment system to reach the requested confirmation status.
The payment is complete when the recipient confirms the correct amount was credited. A “sent” screen in your wallet proves submission, not delivery of whatever you are buying.
- Your wallet shows the transfer under the correct currency and network.
- The amount and destination match the payment request.
- The transaction reference opens a record of the same transfer.
- The recipient confirms receipt or explains the remaining confirmation wait.
- You have kept any invoice or receipt needed for your records.
If the payment remains pending, check the transaction reference and the wallet's official support material. Do not send a duplicate payment unless the original is clearly rejected and the recipient agrees.
If the network transfer is confirmed but the recipient has not credited it, send the transaction reference to the recipient. For a hosted XRP destination, also confirm the destination tag.
If you sent to the wrong address, network, or identifier, contact the receiving person or service immediately. The network itself normally cannot reverse the transfer. Anyone who promises guaranteed recovery in exchange for your recovery phrase or another payment is not legitimate support.
